Victoria - Evaluating the conditions for the 3rd estate

The 3rd estate was by far the largest estate out of the three.
The other two estates being the 1ST and 2nd estate. 98% of Frances population was made up of the people of the 3rd estate. To be a member of the 1st estate you must be a member of the Parish or Clergy. To be a member of the 2nd estate you must carry a noble title and all the members of the 3rd estate were just commoners. Although the members of the 3rd estate were just common people there was a wide range of diversity in the group. The 3rd estate peoples ranged anywhere from beggars to urban labourers. The 3rd estate could be divided into three different groups, bourgeoisie, the sans culottes, and the peasants. The bourgeoisie were the “middle class” of the 3rd estate, merchants, manufacturers, bankers, doctors, and lawyers and such, however, having wealth did not give the bourgeoisie status, privilege, or any source of power. The Estates general believed you should obtain the title you were born to. The sans culottes were the, urban workers they did a lot of the trading in the city of Paris. The sans culottes didn’t nearly make as much as the bourgeoisie, they suffered most when food prices rose, but their paychecks did not. Everyone else was the lowest status of the 3rd estate, these people consisted of peasants who worked on farms for the nobles, and the beggars of France.  Because the people of the 3rd estate struggled financially and socially all of there struggles and frustrations built up and led to the French Revolution. The 3rd estate finally decided they were not happy with the way they were living and constantly starving, so they started a revolution against the royal family which led to the uprising revolution of France.
