Reece - Did Napoleon Betray France?

Did Napoleon Betray France?

I believe Napoleon betrayed France, he just went too far. From his power to his battles.
Napoleon may have been a great military leader, but to his people, he was not. Napoleon had initiated unnecessary battles. Some of which are the battle of Moscow and Waterloo. Napoleon attempted to take over Europe. Unfortunately he was not able to complete this. The British made this impossible. They resisted his laws. Not only that but Wellington, a British military leader planned for Napoleons attack strategy ahead of time. This resulted in Wellington’s army taking out most of Napoleons troops before Napoleon could even make it to the battlefield. Waterloo is where this attack took place. The Napoleonic code was one of Napoleons law. This law forbade privileges based on birth, allowed freedom of religion, and specified jobs should go to most qualified. The Napoleonic code was a good law that made France run smoother by making it fairer. The Continental System was the foreign policy of Napoleon in his struggle against Great Britain during the Napoleonic Wars. This stopped certain trade and made it harder for the British to trade with France. This made Britain lose out on money from trading. Napoleon may have been a good leader but his people skills and ways of life. This things lead to his downfall.
