Paige S- Was Napoleon a Strong Leader?

The best leader
Napoleon Bonaparte was a good historic leader of his people.
He was a strong independent general and did what he thought was best for his people. He knew what he needed and did what was necessary for his future, Example divorced his wife so he could have children of his blood line. Napoleon was determined to lead an army and be successful. He established the Napoleonic code in 1804 which did many things for the people like making a better schooling system.
Napoleon was thought to have abused his power by many people and I agree he didn’t always use his power for the best but he was just proud of his accomplishments and he was not afraid of what others thought about him. He only lost 8 out of the 60 battles he fought while he was in command. He had some of the best strategies when it came to battles called the Napoleonic tactics.
Toward the end of his career he began to fall and went into wars he was not able to win. He did not let this stop him yet though. He was exiled to the island of Elba and after the hundred days he escaped and regained his control .this is a great example of why napoleon was such a great leader, because even after his return his army was still willing to fight with him and stand by his side.  He was finally defeated at the battle of waterloo by a British led army under the command of duke of wellington on June 18th 1815. After the battle napoleon was exiled to the island of Saint Helena where he eventually died.
